Beaver Creek Lake, Virginia

on Monday October 6th, 2014 the hubby i took a day kayaking trip to "Beaver Creek Lake". such a gorgeous day. a bit windy. we enjoyed a "Crozet Pizza", so delicious. a fun picnic. next time i will be sure to share some pizza pictures... completely forgot that part. ( :

if you recall my "Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park" posts ...we rented 2 kayaks they had available & this was the 1st kayaking trip we had taken since that trip ...our kayaks are totally different. different length, shape, you sit within the kayak totally opposite. if you have not ridden in a kayak or canoe - you really don't understand. but it is like riding in a car on the opposite side, or trying to write with a hand that you don't normally write with. so wild. i just continued to feel something was off or strange? we had our normal paddles again. it was like teaching yourself to row again. wild times. we had a blast. also the weather was changing so (cold front coming in) - the wind was blowing from all directions. usually you can get close to the shore & stay out of the wind. not this time ...no matter where you were the wind was push at you. great for exercise but so different. can i say DIFFERENT one more time?

enjoy your 1st day of December. stay warm. Beth ( :

Refreshing and awakening, kayaking when it's windy and cold can be invigorating but I always enjoy a nice nap afterwards!...:)JP

Well, that post is certainly different! Have never had the pleasure of kayaking, and not sure I'd have the strength for keeping control despite the wind. Glad you are enjoying it.

You find such good lake for kayaking. I can imagine how the varying wind makes it hard to keep going in a given direction.

The water and rock are beautiful. No water here that isn't covered in ice, so your post is a refreshing sight. :-)

I have never been kayaking in my life, and it's actually something that I want to do. That lake looks incredibly peaceful.

(And I remember staying at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park campgrounds growing up. I don't know how they look now, but back then they had a huge Yogi with a picnic (or pic-a-nic if you're talking like Yogi) basket. We used to stand in it for a photo op.

Thanks for the memory!

Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the campsites ...u get this beachfront view, so peaceful. I really enjoy beach walking, it is like you can hear yourself thinking, u can shake out all the silliness and just be YOU! Hey, God it's me Beth (he's showing off you know, I think he does that 'cause he know I have my camera, was that not nice of him? so cool!!) ...I'm 40 any time you wanna slap, ((I know you don't believe in violence, but sometimes it is needed when we are completely not listening or just missing the point??!)) me across the face and tell me what the heck to do, I am ready??! I am able and willing? You are probably super busy, dealing with other silliness going on. I am probably doing okay ... compared to others. I get it ... I'll keep my ears open. Promise! Tell all my loved ones hi, I miss them. Lately, I have been really miss my Grandma, and my Great Aunt. Hope they are treating u good??! Life is good. Bring Spri…

Kayaking it

We really lucked out to go kayaking on this trip while we were staying at Davy Crockett State Park, TN. So you know ... I have yet to fall out of my kayak .... KNOCK ON WOOD ... knock on your head ...whatever!! My hubby this kayaking trip slipped once going into this kayak right off the bat and then the kayaking completely flipped over ...it was a real COLD adventure ...fun but so so cold. & our camping friends ...who don't go kayaking often were wanting to help the hubby but I had it under control ...I had water come up and over the kayak ... I am guessing that would be a good reason to have a skirt on your kayak. Wonder if I could do that on my kind of kayak? Not sure ...but it was so so cold. We made it back all in one piece.
Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you did enjoy your visit. Thank you for your comments and friendship. ENJOY YOUR DAY!! Be Well & Be Blessed!! Beth ( :

So many bikes, so many unique ones to see and just drool over. Are you a bike fan? If you can remember your childhood, what was the must have bike of that year, I bet it is here in mint condition. So fun!! Harley Davidson made bikes, not just Harleys??! Who knew? So many creators, just so so much history. Are you a history buff, I don't remember all these dates, maybe you could or can? Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you are well. Take Care!!! Beth ( ;
