the amazing James River

the James River shots we got to enjoy on Sept 28th, 2014. it was a gorgeous trip down the river. a bit overcast. while you eat your turkey, stuffing or whatever you do enjoy on this Thanksgiving - i sure hope it is a great day for ya. i like to think on my favorite river times when i wish to relax & veg.
have a great turkey day to all your folks who do celebrate!!! to my other friends who have already celebrated their Thanksgiving ...enjoy a warm cup of tea or coffee. have a warm and cozy day. big big hugs to all of you guys!! Beth ( :

not all kayaks are alike???!

i never realized how different kayaks can be??! you have seen pics of our kayaks. these you see seem to sit more on top of the water, they are more different to steer, & not as smooth. we didn't bring our own paddles so that was a real differences too. who knew it could be so different. we did bring our own life jackets and hats.
just so you know for future reference NOT ALL KAYAKS are equal.
i think the hubby liked it. me - major learning curve. i did the best i could. & considering all the great pics i took, in my most humble opinion, it could have gone a whole lot worse. ha. ha!!! pics taken Sept. 28th, 2014. Beth ( :

Cave Mountain Lake, Virginia

1st off - has any one noticed lately that there are a lot more "No-Reply Commentors" on your blog? i have. it seems weird to me? wonder what is going on with that, google maybe having issues or??!
"Cave Mountain Lake", Virginia is a gorgeous area. they do have a campground. we did not stay. just checked it out for future notices in case we are in the area & wished to stay there in the future ...they have a beach, picnic area & hiking trails. i am only guessing but have you ever noticed that a great deal of these places were made by the "Civilian Conservation Corps", smart men. they last & are just amazing quality.
a nice getaway for sure. Beth ( :

Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, Hayward, Wisconsin

"Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame", Hayward, Wisconsin. i am not a fisherwoman, but i have always been amazed by folks who do fish. all the hard work you do to make those stats. i must say i would prefer to see all these fish in the sea. not on the wall like this ...but what can you do? have you ever seen any of these fish alive before? this salmon above is so cool!!

did i mention that the hubby had a speed boat when we 1st started dating. it was awesome. but i always thought it needed to go FASTER. i love a fast boat. then the goober sold the thing. i miss it big time. he got rid of it because we didn't use it enough. kind of hard when you don't live near any BIG bodys of water. guess we need to move. he loved all the boat motors at this place. i now own a huge SD card of boat motors, what??! yep, i do. any one else in the world who can say that, can YOU say the same thing???!!!??!!!!

do you love to fish? Beth ( :
