squirreling around at Red Rock Canyon

for you folks who normally shoot pics of critters, i really do say how the heck do you do it? you are really patient, have lots of time, or enjoy the wait? don't make noise, light as a feather, have lots of camouflage or what?

this cute squirrel was totally into his treat. his early breakfast. he was completely ignoring me. i got my zoom on and BAM we have 4 shots. a bit the same, same angle, etc, i was afraid to move, that he/she would get bored of me staring at him/she and wonder off. but all different in my opinion, considering i am not a critter normal shooter. pics taken late August 2014. This little guy is very cute. I don't do a lot of camera critters but most of what I've gotten has been via a long lens and luck. More luck than anything else.

Nice shots. I am in amazement at the birder bloggers who have such great shots. I don't have the patience, nor the skill to do what they do.

I put out bird seed and watch from my window.

I'm thinking many people have super long-angle lenses, right? Is that what it's called when a camera can zoom in from a distance and still have high resolution?

Fine and very cute critter shots of this squirrel. I like how he appears to be in a fine place with which to enjoy his snack.

Briery Creek Lake, Farmville, Virginia

Taking a break from our trips, to talk about a recent kayaking trip. We have had so much rain here in Virginia in the month of May. It has been so green. The funny thing is how the weather folks keep saying we are in a drought??! WHAT??! So on Monday May 9th, we took a day trip to "Briery Creek Lake", Farmville, VA. At this area there was a sign about "Trophy Largemouth Bass", so if you are fan, you might wanna check out. We are not fisherpeople, just love the kayaking experience. It was a gorgeous day! I was trying to get the picture of the osprey, the water was thinking otherwise, but I did ok... in the video below you will hear birdies, I did try to capture the osprey, but the silly bird stopped singing, it was such an interesting sound. chirp? tweet? Why does nature not working me with me, please?

Please enjoy this vlog of that day. Thanks, for stopping by, hope you enjoy the trip. Beth ( ;

As I say there are so many areas to walk around there at the gardens ...gorgeous trees to stand under if you are dealing with lots of sun. Great shades. Herb gardens, a perfect place for great visit no matter the season. So fun!! I think my favorite will be the butterfly girl ...she just looks so happy and free. 2nd fave is the girl smelling the rose. Thank you for stopping by. Hope you are well today. Take care.
