Field, British Columbia, Canada

Some times life just works out a certain way. Case in point. We drove to Field, which is British Columbia, Canada. Went to head back across the train track and got stopped by this super long train. So we got out & got to see this old train station. & the hubby got to be super helpful to an older couple who was having a fuel leak. Too bad you could not go in to the train station & see even more architecture from this cool beauty.

Here is a train video please watch. & I thought that American trains were long but this Canadian train is way way long. ha. ha!! Do folks still do Chinese Fire drills? i think that is what they are called where you jump out of your car, run around the to another door and jump back in and drive off??! Beth ( :

Our trains are nothing like as long as American ones, so they would be even smaller then compared to the Canadian ones!! xx

Hi Beth, that is a long train. The little station is cute too! Best of all is the pretty mountain scene beyond the train.. I was waiting to see your chinese fire drill.

Have a happy day!

I'm not sure I've ever been a part of a Chinese Fire Drill, Beth. It looks like your train gave you an opportunity to get a good picture, but not enough time to explore. People seldom wait on trains anymore, because of all the overpasses....unless you are traveling in a small town like this one.
Those same trains go through NW Washington. They are trying to get more trains - 18 a day instead of 12 a day - and as you can imagine, there are those that are not for that idea - so what they have done is make the trains almost twice as long - making the waits at crossings unbelievable - not to mention the problems with emergency vehicles needing to get past the trains.

Wonderful old depot.

You made great use of the time the long time provided. We have long trains here too as Spokane is an interim link to Seattle.

I love the colourful long trains we have in Canada...unless I'm stuck waiting at a railroad crossing. :)

That is a beautiful train station. I remember doing Chinese fire drills as a teenager in the city I grew up in. The train tracks when through the middle of the city and the freight trains were long so we'd hop out, run around the card and hop back in again. LOL We used to count the cars when we were little kids too. Hugs. Pam
