Bannack State Park, Montana





"Bannack State Park", Montana. We stayed in the campground. No water. Only a pit toilet. So it was a one-nighter campground. I don't do well not taking shower when it is super hot during the day & you are sweating like a crazy person. If it had been hot at night the hubby said it would be cool to take a rinse off in the river there. It was super cold water. The last 2 shots are within the campground. When we made our trip to Montana 2013 this state park was closed due to flooding ...this river was the troublemaker. Hard to believe that just a small river could be so mean??! We made a point in 2014 to finally see this park apparently a lot of the old building were harm during the flooding. Mighty waters they are. Always be ready. Beth ( :

Hello Beth, the old buildings look like they could be a movie set. The river does look like it is moving fast, I am sure the water would be chilly too. With no running water back in the pioneer days people would be bathing in the rivers. Great shots, enjoy your day! And thanks for visiting my post.

A pretty setting. The buildings remind me of a couple of historical interpretation places I've been to.

I'm not good with camping at all - So you have my respect.
You reminded me of a model friend from years ago - she would stomp her feet when some gentleman suggested camping and insist he "I want concrete under her feet, NOW - and let me tell you, I'm takin' a SHOWER, TONIGHT!!!"

This looks like a fun place to visit as long as 'the creek don't rise". Our cabin is by a river and it can do some shocking and amazing things if there is too much rain up in the mountains. I have seen our river rise 30 feet up out of its banks in an evening. so glad we are up on a ridge. I love montanna! Such a gorgeous state.

"Bar U Ranch" , National Historic Site. Established in 1882, it was huge ranching operation  "even more info here." .  if you know anything about me, you will know I have always wanted to live on a farm, own a farm, have horses, cows, dogs, cats, garden, fields, quiet & peace the whole 9 or is it 10 yards.   Backbone Rock Tunnel, Shady Valley, Tennessee "spur ridge on Holston Mtn that abruptly ends at a bend in Beaverdam Creek. tunnel was drilled through rock in 1901 to allow railroad access between Shady Valley and Damascus, Virginia" Hey There, don't ya love it when you are driving along and find a neat spot? …this tunnel was a busier road, got to see it from both sides of the road ...very cool.
