Skyline Drive, Virginia - free weekend!




"Find Your Park", 4/18 through 4/26, all National Parks had a free weekend. They do this several times throughout the year. Be sure to check with your area National Park or their "website". "Shenandoah National Park" is part of the Skyline Drive, in Virginia. 

Virginia has lots of National Parks (& state parks.), I bet your state does 2. We went on 4/19, Sunday, an overcast day, on the cool side & it did rain a bit. Lots of hiking is available. 

"Eddie, #80" one of our Serta Sheep had a real ball. He says 2 hooves up on Shenandoah National Park!!! Beth ( :

Hi Beth, we have the yearly pass for the national parks. And Shenandoah is one of our favorite parks to visit. I like the last shot with Eddie the Serta Sheep. Have a happy day!

"Bar U Ranch" , National Historic Site. Established in 1882, it was huge ranching operation  "even more info here." .  if you know anything about me, you will know I have always wanted to live on a farm, own a farm, have horses, cows, dogs, cats, garden, fields, quiet & peace the whole 9 or is it 10 yards. Shady Valley, TN

  Backbone Rock Tunnel, Shady Valley, Tennessee "spur ridge on Holston Mtn that abruptly ends at a bend in Beaverdam Creek. tunnel was drilled through rock in 1901 to allow railroad access between Shady Valley and Damascus, Virginia" Hey There, don't ya love it when you are driving along and find a neat spot? …this tunnel was a busier road, got to see it from both sides of the road ...very cool.
