Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina

No matter where you are on the "Blue Ridge Parkway" you will love every single moment. It travels through Virginia and North Carolina. Mom & I decided to take a bit of it before we headed on back to homelands. The part we took was lot of 35 mph and not very much quicker 45 mph. There are so many twists and turns ...I spent a lot of the time lower than 35 mph. The way were headed we were not getting home early than 6 pm, a quick part of the parkway and back to interstate driving. It was fun while it lasted & if there would have been more things blooming we may have stayed on even longer. It is always there & always FREE.

The trip was made April 21-22. My Mom called me the next day to see if I had rested up ...I told her I was cleaning the deck, getting it ready to stain??!! What, how is the resting? she said to me. I had not had a good nights sleep in 2 nights. hey, I was too excited, a girls night away, too fun!! Beth ( :

It looks like a beautiful road to take slowly. I think when people speed they miss so much!!

Hello, Beth!
I love the Blue Ridge Parkway, I think it is lovely at all times of the year but in the Autumn, when the leaves is incredible!
How pretty! This is on my bucket list..we almost made it one year, but not quite. Soon, I hope.

Even though I grew up in northeast Tennessee, I have never drove the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Love the parkway! Skyline Drive is very close to us, though, so we go there fairly often.

Point Lookout State Park, Maryland & area lighthouses

Where we stayed: Point Lookout State Park, Maryland

Fort Lincoln, located within Point Lookout State Park. The only original part that is still at the location is the white barrier wall, all buildings are new, I guess the weather and winds are rough on fort.

Here is a vlog from that day of the sunset view from the state park & a coastline view from Fort Lincoln. I can so see why the fort was so in needs of repair, the winds there are so violent.

I will say that Maryland has pretty tough lighthouses to get to up close, usually you can get better shots, instead of through fences and all that jazz, but at least you can sort of see them? RIGHT??! Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are well. Enjoy these views. Plan a trip soon, such a gorgeous area of Maryland. Beth  ( :

Grayson Highlands State Park & VA Creep Trail, Virginia

I was going to do 2 separate posts for this camping trip but it was only very quick weekend trip back in July of this year. Enjoy the vlogs from that day. We had a ball, such a great trip!!
1st part was our hike on Wilburn Ridge. 2nd day was our bike trip on the VA Creeper Trail. I think one of the most uncomfortable parts of the trip is riding in a huge van with people you have not a clue who they are... you just know that you are going to all be riding the trail. They van you up the mtn & you bike back to Damascus, VA. It is a 17 mile bike trip. Very easy. Not too much work at all.
One of our favorite state parks to camp at in VA is "Grayson Highlands State Park". We love this area 'cause you have the opportunity to bike the "Virginia Creeper Trail". Yes, we did make another hike adventure to "Wilburn Ridge". If you click each those names it will take you to our previous trip back in 2015. We took this trip in July of this year. What we love ab…
