We visited Great Falls a couple of years ago, but there wasn't nearly this much water when we were there (October). We'll have to go back in the Spring.
Beth, Haven't had much blogging time lately, so I back-tracked through your past week of posts of North Carolina and Virginia. Loved your Biltmore post. Our last visit there was in the spring when they had the Downton Abbey exhibition. We have been planning a trip but stay a little closer to home lately as our son-in-law is in late stages of kidney cancer. The mill in Virginia looks like a good place to visit and the pretty pink Victorian where you stayed looks like a wonderful place to stay. Wishing you a happy week ahead!
I am so glad you included the video! People need to watch it to appreciate this place. I would not want to fall in there, but I sure would like to see it!
Bass Pro Shop, "Memphis Pyramid", in Tennessee. We always enjoy visiting Brass Pro Shops around the USA. They are so always so creative, all different and interesting to see what they will be sharing. We are not fisher people. we just can appreciate the business. All sorts of games to play. Shopping. Lodging. Restaurants. In the brochure you can get at the front door this quote can be seen... "Ride the tallest freestanding elevator in America. Experience a ride to the top of the Pyramid in the 28-story glass elevator. Once you are at the top, stand on glass-floored observation decks that offer 360-degree views 300 feet above Memphis and the Mississippi River." (we didn't do this, it does cost extra doe to ride on up. but fun to see from the bottom looking up.) A must see if you are in the Memphis,TN. area. Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy your day! "Lincoln's New Salem" , Petersburg, Illinois. Can we just say 1st how difficult it is to spell ILLINOIS. nuts!! I think it is even easier to spell MISSISSIPPI. right??! We were told about this site, thanks to a tour guide in Colorado, he said there is a man who works here that look just like Abe Lincoln himself during his young years. Now if you know anything about me, I LOVE HISTORY. 2nd I love anything Abe Lincoln, he's one of my most favorite presidents ever. So I was super excited to meet this gentleman, do you think he was working the day we visited? nope, any ways... A lovely walk & we had fun seeing all the animals. I wonder why we live in such big homes, this one above shows a nice size home all you need in one little room. Less space, less money to pay each month. Sounds good to me!!! This post is in memory of my friend: Tina Forrester aka. "CameraGirl". She and her husband were lost this week in a tragic car accident. Here is her bloggy link if you would like to see her outstanding photography: "East Gwillimbury CameraGirl, Exploring Central Ontario (CANADA) ... and beyond" . We both shared such a love for travel & photography. You will be missed. Rest In Peace, great "CameraGirl", RIP! ( : Where do we even start?, I continued to say to my hubby throughout our trip to Washington, Oregon, northern CA back in August 2015, that I wondered how I could take a picture of the whole tall tree? The trees in in the eastern US are huge, but the trees out west are gigantic, massive, huge!! There are .... THEY ARE! ...how do I even begin to show a picture of these awesome trees? I don't own a fancy camera just a normal point and shoot. How do I express to you the magnitude of how tall these massive trees are? they are huge!!! & will you
