Scotts Bluff National Monument, Nebraska





"Scotts Bluff National Monument, Nebraska". We got to this monument late in the day & had only a few minutes until they would close. We were only in the area for a short time so we quickly grabbed a bottle of water and rushed to check out these views. If you will notice in the last shot, those are Oregon Trail Ruts, still looking like they just happened just yesterday. The larger one is a road. Hope you can read the signage they had. I tried to zoom in for your viewing pleasure. ( :

That's beautiful countryside. Too bad you got there so late and couldn't explore more. I did enjoy the video and the views. - It's amazing those wagon train ruts are still there after all these years.

Oh Beth...I am so far behind with everyone! Trying to catch up a little bit this morning. I loved this post! Wow! To see the wagon wheel ruts is amazing. The scenery is wonderful. It takes you back to those historic days, doesn't it? Great shots and video!

"Bar U Ranch" , National Historic Site. Established in 1882, it was huge ranching operation  "even more info here." .  if you know anything about me, you will know I have always wanted to live on a farm, own a farm, have horses, cows, dogs, cats, garden, fields, quiet & peace the whole 9 or is it 10 yards.   Backbone Rock Tunnel, Shady Valley, Tennessee "spur ridge on Holston Mtn that abruptly ends at a bend in Beaverdam Creek. tunnel was drilled through rock in 1901 to allow railroad access between Shady Valley and Damascus, Virginia" Hey There, don't ya love it when you are driving along and find a neat spot? …this tunnel was a busier road, got to see it from both sides of the road ...very cool.
