Amana Woolen Mill, Amana, Iowa





"Amana Woolen Mill". We did look at their amazing work, would have loved to take home of these blankets, but they were not within our price range. On trips you have to give & take. A picture will have to do. Enjoy!!! Always such a fan of seeing how items are made, very cool to see that products are still made within the great country of the USA. way cool!!!  I'm guessing that the building above is the train station. The day we were there it was pretty empty and not a lot of the Amana businesses were open. Beth ( :

The woolen mill looks like a place I would love to go, Elizabeth. I know what you mean about buying things on trips. If I bought every thing that I wanted to buy, not only would we be totally broke, but there would not be room to fit it in our car! I enjoyed your post!!

"Bar U Ranch" , National Historic Site. Established in 1882, it was huge ranching operation  "even more info here." .  if you know anything about me, you will know I have always wanted to live on a farm, own a farm, have horses, cows, dogs, cats, garden, fields, quiet & peace the whole 9 or is it 10 yards.   Backbone Rock Tunnel, Shady Valley, Tennessee "spur ridge on Holston Mtn that abruptly ends at a bend in Beaverdam Creek. tunnel was drilled through rock in 1901 to allow railroad access between Shady Valley and Damascus, Virginia" Hey There, don't ya love it when you are driving along and find a neat spot? …this tunnel was a busier road, got to see it from both sides of the road ...very cool.
