Buttermilk Falls State Park, New York

"Buttermilk Falls" State Park, Ithaca, New York. Such a gorgeous area. We had our lunch there. What a view. The waterfall is so loud & right within the city. Such a great hiking spot.

Would you please consider watching the video below to see how powerful this waterfall really is ...we got up close & personal while on the hike. Just so you know New York does not do well in calculating the amount of mileage this hike is actually (or what they share on their signage) ...so be prepared to know it is longer than they say kind of hike. We were sweating & totally wishing we had taken water. We know better for next time. Here in Virginia if we say it is 1/2 mile hike, you will darn sure it is a 1/2 mile hike. Maybe they measure different in other state, no clue??! Beth ( :

There are a few places we've been where the length of the hike has been greatly understated. Kind of frustrating! But what beauty! I love waterfalls.

What a bummer about the hike being longer then you expected but oh my to see that stunning falls would have been worth it. Loved the video.

LOUD . . Really LOUD . . . maybe the counters could not think properly because
this water was So LOUD . . they either mis-communicated or got confused . . . Or, maybe They only walked a half mile . . . so that's what they posted . . .

maybe they meant to write - "Dear Beth, we only managed a half mile, it was so loud, we went home for a glass of water." Love, the sign people.
