Alder Lake State Park, Washington

Alder Lake State Park, Washington, was a gorgeous state park, low on water. No fires allowed, we have found that camping out is tough when you can not have a campfire. How do you eat folks? We are looking into propane campfires. A persons gotta eat. We don't always want to eat out at restaurants, that gets to darn pricey.

That's a fire behind the campground, across the water. They campground folks didn't think it would burn across the water, but for folks who don't love fire like us, we could not believe they were more nervous about the winds? We would see fire trucks running every where, they would have camps set up for the fire folks to stay in. Those fire fighter folks really do amazing work. We heard tons of tales. It sounds like a lot of this work is done by just the common folks, not all of them real fire fighters. some farmers get to fight their own battles, no help from any one. that's scary to me. where is their state of emergency? WHAT??!! where is their help???! their assistance?! Beth ( ;

Hello Beth, the lake and mountain scenery is gorgeous. The wildfires are scary, I thank god for all the firefighters. They put their lives on the line. When hubby and I used to camp many years ago we had a little propane stove for cooking. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!

Forest fire fighters do a hell of a job year in and year out. Beautiful shots, Beth!

Kayaking it

We really lucked out to go kayaking on this trip while we were staying at Davy Crockett State Park, TN. So you know ... I have yet to fall out of my kayak .... KNOCK ON WOOD ... knock on your head ...whatever!! My hubby this kayaking trip slipped once going into this kayak right off the bat and then the kayaking completely flipped over ...it was a real COLD adventure ...fun but so so cold. & our camping friends ...who don't go kayaking often were wanting to help the hubby but I had it under control ...I had water come up and over the kayak ... I am guessing that would be a good reason to have a skirt on your kayak. Wonder if I could do that on my kind of kayak? Not sure ...but it was so so cold. We made it back all in one piece.
Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you did enjoy your visit. Thank you for your comments and friendship. ENJOY YOUR DAY!! Be Well & Be Blessed!! Beth ( :

So many bikes, so many unique ones to see and just drool over. Are you a bike fan? If you can remember your childhood, what was the must have bike of that year, I bet it is here in mint condition. So fun!! Harley Davidson made bikes, not just Harleys??! Who knew? So many creators, just so so much history. Are you a history buff, I don't remember all these dates, maybe you could or can? Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you are well. Take Care!!! Beth ( ;
