Brent's Drug, Jackson, Mississippi

Brent's Drug, in Jackson, Mississippi, they are on "FB" & "Twitter". I am not great with names, but I will always remember your face ...the waitress we had was the bestest, she was so kind, made me laugh until I almost cried. You see we have been to the restaurant twice ...1st time we got the best LAMB burger, collard greens & a sauce named "ComeBack Sauce". I have an idea of what "ComeBack Sauce" is made from but ...I bet it is a big secret ...let me tell ya, I will be coming back when I am in Jackson again. This would have been our 3rd trip there but I believe it was last year or was it the year before, any who they had a roof leak and that made it so we couldn't go. I follow them on FB and thankfully saw that announcement there. So I had been waiting 3 yrs to have another LAMB burger, collard greens... NOW GUESS WHAT? they no longer sell the LAMB burger & they were out of the collard greens???! WHAT? not kidding. : (

This meal was great, we didn't eat it all, took some leftovers for the nextdays lunch BUT I will be still dreaming of that LAMB burger forever & ever. See below my sad face (or food art, if you please.) made from ComeBack/Hamburger. Just Kidding!! I still love Brent's Drug. On the menu is their story (history) of how they all got started (if we are recalling correctly) in 1948, they were the 1st shopping center in Jackson, a drug store with a soda fountain. Lost the drug store & became totally a diner ...if someone is out there who know the full story... You will please tell me. Going totally on memory. ( :

I remember before I left to take a pic of the front of the diner, when we were 1st looking for a new truck to pull our Casita, I told the hubby I wanted something without an antenna 'cause they always get in my pics some how, darn antenna there it is??! nuts!!! Thank you for stopping by, hope I didn't make ya too hungry? Beth ( ;

Now this looks like my kind of place, Beth. The food looks delicious and the cafe reminds me of our town cafe down home in the little one traffic light town where I was raised. This is a great post and, by the way, your blog header looks beautiful!!
