i love lighthouses beth, i think many of us bloggers do!! we have quite a few here at the jersey shore and i have seen and photographed all of then. one day, each year, new jersey sponsors a lighthouse day where each participant gets a book, that looks like a passport and as you visit each lighthouse, your book gets stamped. i have never done it (i don't think i could keep up) it sure appears to be fun!!

this is a pretty one, i like the second photograph!!!

"Dells Mill", in Augusta, Wisconsin ...was a huge learning experience. Gus Clark, the museum guide was so great.

i just went to the website, to share the link with you guys and i see that Gus did pass away. i am trying to check my notes to see when we were there. we were trying to recall the day. my parents anniversary is August 24th. apparently the day he past away. (he was telling us that he did have some health issues, no details, but i thought he looked ok?) he was so cool. he was very descriptive and so fun to listen too. the mill had been in his family for years. he was just like a real history book. such a loss. (i just checked my notes we were there Thurs. 8/21) i hope he knew we enjoyed our visit. we told him so. thanked him for his time & explained we love seeing the odd, the different & the usual places throughout the US.

mills are becoming far and few. sad but true. ) :
