Hungry Mother State Park, Marion, Virginia

These are the views we had while kayaking at "Hungry Mother State Park", Marion, Virginia. We were there Sept 2016, so the light was going into the later evening, it was breezing cold ...not the easiest kayaking experience ... if we would have had more water, we might have had the ability to row from our campsite ... but the waters were way low ... so we had to sneak in at a higher water location ... the waters were / maybe I should say the winds were pushing against us, so we didn't go to far from our camping spot.

You may ask why the name here is what I got when googling it "Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia is named after Hungry Mother Creek. The creek was supposedly listed on a 1774 land survey as "Hungers Mother" creek. The Name "Hungry Mother" was not officially attached to it until 1929." I was not sure, so that is why I decided I better look it up to see, I was curious too.

Here is a short vlog from that evening. Enjoy!! Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you are well. Take care. See you again real soon. Be Well Be Blessed. Beth ( :

Little Pee Dee State Park, South Carolina

Happy Labor Day!! I always wonder about this thing called Labor Day, who decided to call it that? Was everyone in labor or what? "Little Pee Dee State Park", Dillon, South Carolina. I think this was one of the most friendliest state parks, meaning the camp hosts actually stopped by, asked us where we were from, how long we were staying & just really went out of their way to make use feel welcome and thanked us for stopping by.
I don't ever recall visiting a state park that has ever had dirt roads & I do wonder what they would be like on a rainy day? I bet they would a muddy mess. My Dad had to tell me that my 3 great aunts used to visit this state park when he was younger Mat, Meta & Min were there names. I only knew Meta, who made it till her 99 bday... sadly s…

LUCKY ME. not!!! All good ... life goes on ... but Let me tell ya it was not fun.

How come we have not heard much about the gas leak in Alabama recently ... it did affect us while traveling home through Nashville ...scared the pooh out of me ... I was wondering if we would make it home. Apparently it will only affect southern Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama ... I might …
