McGregor, Iowa

McGregor, Iowa.

McGregor, Iowa (northern Iowa, let me tell ya a story here, if you will please listen, my chiropractor was curious where we had been on our travel and I said this town's name and he said oh yeah, that he went to college in Iowa, I had to giggle, we both did laugh. I am terrible with direction, like North, South, East or West ... i just get where the states are ...but knowing how to hold a map, oh well's all good. We all need a laugh, right??!) is right across the river from Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The closet little area for us to grab lunch while staying at Pikes Peak State Park. Such a fun town. Our favorite restaurant of the trip ...would totally recommend it to ya if you are in that area ... check out "The Old Man River Restaurant and Brewery", 123 A St. McGregor, Iowa, 52157. (563) 873-2002. Their pizza (we tried 2 different ones, we were there with about 7 people total) and a side salad. Our friends got a peanut butter beer ...they enjoyed it, I had a taste but was not my style. Fun to see new flavors. So delicious and great wait staff friendly and loved our humor!!! Well, thank you for stopping by today. Hope you are great today. Thank you for stopping by today. Take Care. Beth ( ;

Dells Mill, Augusta, Wisconsin

"Dells Mill", in Augusta, Wisconsin ...was a huge learning experience. Gus Clark, the museum guide was so great.

i just went to the website, to share the link with you guys and i see that Gus did pass away. i am trying to check my notes to see when we were there. we were trying to recall the day. my parents anniversary is August 24th. apparently the day he past away. (he was telling us that he did have some health issues, no details, but i thought he looked ok?) he was so cool. he was very descriptive and so fun to listen too. the mill had been in his family for years. he was just like a real history book. such a loss. (i just checked my notes we were there Thurs. 8/21) i hope he knew we enjoyed our visit. we told him so. thanked him for his time & explained we love seeing the odd, the different & the usual places throughout the US.

mills are becoming far and few. sad but true. ) :

Pyramid Lake Resort

We had dinner at "Pyramid Lake Resort". We were camping at the Wapiti campground within Jasper National Park. We were so happy to find the restaurant ...some times we just head thinking we want to find the 1st great looking place to try out. & thankfully this was a great pick, check out these views we got to see while eating this fabulous meal. This meal was one of the best meals we had all of our whole Canadian trip. It was a amazing!! 1. appetizer, 2. I had halibut, 3. hubby had elk, and 4. was the pyramid chocolate yummyness. it was delicious!! Are you now hungry? Beth ( :
