Hey there, thank you for stopping by today. The hubby and I are having a war of we have been there, done that ...but he swears we have not kind of discussion??! I know this mill and general store, the minute we pulled into the parking area, I was like deja vu moment, started trying to recall when we were there and what we saw, etc. I am going to do some more research, I gotta figure it out, 'cause I am drawing a blank?? ...know we have been there done that for sure!!! I am searching my photos to be sure??!

The mill like when we visited the last time is in disrepair but the locals are working on it ...hoping to have it open soon for viewing purposes. So that folks can see what it was in the past. A history lesson for sure. Hope one day if we are in the area again to see what it looks like inside. Hope you are well. Take Care. Beth ( ;

There are a lot of people restoring old sites. It's a lot of work, but a great hobby, methnks.

Don't you just hate it when you know you've seen a place before but can't pinpoint when.

Dells Mill, Augusta, Wisconsin

"Dells Mill", in Augusta, Wisconsin ...was a huge learning experience. Gus Clark, the museum guide was so great.

i just went to the website, to share the link with you guys and i see that Gus did pass away. i am trying to check my notes to see when we were there. we were trying to recall the day. my parents anniversary is August 24th. apparently the day he past away. (he was telling us that he did have some health issues, no details, but i thought he looked ok?) he was so cool. he was very descriptive and so fun to listen too. the mill had been in his family for years. he was just like a real history book. such a loss. (i just checked my notes we were there Thurs. 8/21) i hope he knew we enjoyed our visit. we told him so. thanked him for his time & explained we love seeing the odd, the different & the usual places throughout the US.

mills are becoming far and few. sad but true. ) :
