The parents & I ran down to Salisbury, North Carolina for a family wedding in Sept 2019. My hubby was picking up a boat in New York that weekend, so we had fun in separate states!! I had noticed a picture of a train station right off our elevator in the hotel we were staying in ...and wondered where it was located? ...not to far away, so said the hotel clerk, we got a map and figured out the plan ...My Mom & I drove down to check it out. Enjoy these views. It was different, I guess they used some amazing lighting or something, 'cause my view was a bit different??! Are you a train person? I wish I could have shown to you the amazing flooring in the waiting room, what I assume would have been from the olden days, it was so awesome. "Bar U Ranch" , National Historic Site. Established in 1882, it was huge ranching operation  "even more info here." .  if you know anything about me, you will know I have always wanted to live on a farm, own a farm, have horses, cows, dogs, cats, garden, fields, quiet & peace the whole 9 or is it 10 yards.   Backbone Rock Tunnel, Shady Valley, Tennessee "spur ridge on Holston Mtn that abruptly ends at a bend in Beaverdam Creek. tunnel was drilled through rock in 1901 to allow railroad access between Shady Valley and Damascus, Virginia" Hey There, don't ya love it when you are driving along and find a neat spot? …this tunnel was a busier road, got to see it from both sides of the road ...very cool. Lincoln's New Salem, Petersburg, Illinois

"Lincoln's New Salem" , Petersburg, Illinois. Can we just say 1st how difficult it is to spell ILLINOIS. nuts!! I think it is even easier to spell MISSISSIPPI. right??! We were told about this site, thanks to a tour guide in Colorado, he said there is a man who works here that look just like Abe Lincoln himself during his young years. Now if you know anything about me, I LOVE HISTORY. 2nd I love anything Abe Lincoln, he's one of my most favorite presidents ever. So I was super excited to meet this gentleman, do you think he was working the day we visited? nope, any ways... A lovely walk & we had fun seeing all the animals. I wonder why we live in such big homes, this one above shows a nice size home all you need in one little room. Less space, less money to pay each month. Sounds good to me!!!
