The Linger Longer Soda Fountain
119 N Nelson St
Bennington, KS

"Step back in time" to experience our authentic soda fountain - one of the few remaining. Continuing tradition, we're in the original 106-year-old building with a beautiful tin ceiling. We still use the same soda fountain and back-bar. Hand-mixing fountain drinks with spigots and pumps allows patrons to experience old-fashioned deliciousness. After enjoying dessert or a sandwich, browse our collection of over 2,000 Dr Pepper collectibles and antiques. It is the second largest public collection in the United States! Plan on having time to play pinball etc. in our extensive game room or relax in the outdoor courtyard. And don't forget to try the Green River!

I'll just say that visiting this soda shop was just a real meant to be moment in our life, our travel lives, it was so so much fun, I wish I could recall the names of the treats we did try, they had real fun names and were a suggestion from the owner, Sharolyn. Who was just a real sweetheart, Her husband once went to college to be a lawyer in a town very close to where we live in Virginia, but felt that Kansas life, where he was raised, family grew up, were farmers ... it was generation after generation, in his blood ...so they moved back to the slow way of life, quieter times and opened this amazing soda fountain. If you know my hubby he loved his collection of Coke. He has a few Dr. Pepper items in that collection, so it was fun for 2 soda people to be together, reminiscing, chatting, ohhing and awwweeeeing over this and that ...very cool!! I was shocked that my hubby didn't get a far away shot of the soda fountain, but they are all close ups of this and that. Check out her "website", she is on FB as well. If you are curious over the history of the soda fountain please "see here". Glad you stopped in today, hope you enjoy yourself ...see you again soon. Be Well & Be Blessed!! Beth ( ;
