August Schell Brewing Company, MN

August "Schell" Brewing Company
1860 Schell's Rd
New Ulm, MN

"Our story began long before 1860 with a man named August Schell. From his birth, his move to the States, and even co-founding New Ulm. We all start somewhere and Schells' story started right here."

If you know anything about Beth, I am not really a drinker ...I'll say I enjoy vodka, but really I don't do it often. I will try it (wine, bourbon, beers, mixed drinks, whatever)...but don't usually enjoy it. We did take a factory tour ... included in that tour would be the grounds, the gorgeous home above, a tasting ...I think like 7 or so type from their different beers. My hubby just drank their root beer ...which was pretty good. My fave was their: Schell's Sangria Red Citrus Lager that was awesome, If i had an occasion where I needed to drink something I might try that again. I thought maybe it was not a real beer?? but it was fruity and good. Check it out if you want, maybe you might enjoy it too?

The brewery and home tour sound like fun. I have been to a wine tasting but not a beer tasting. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week ahead.

That house looks gorgeous. I wonder what I would do if on a tour where I was expected to drink any alcohol ? I just have never and can't say I really want to now. Not that I am opposed to someone having any of it, if done in moderation .

Interesting house! I don't like the smell of alcohol so a tasting does not appeal to me.

Cool looking place, I don't drink alcohol but I do like to visit and learn about the way things are made.

Dells Mill, Augusta, Wisconsin

"Dells Mill", in Augusta, Wisconsin ...was a huge learning experience. Gus Clark, the museum guide was so great.

i just went to the website, to share the link with you guys and i see that Gus did pass away. i am trying to check my notes to see when we were there. we were trying to recall the day. my parents anniversary is August 24th. apparently the day he past away. (he was telling us that he did have some health issues, no details, but i thought he looked ok?) he was so cool. he was very descriptive and so fun to listen too. the mill had been in his family for years. he was just like a real history book. such a loss. (i just checked my notes we were there Thurs. 8/21) i hope he knew we enjoyed our visit. we told him so. thanked him for his time & explained we love seeing the odd, the different & the usual places throughout the US.

mills are becoming far and few. sad but true. ) :
i wonder who will take over the mill? he was having issues with the folks who wanted t…

Biltmore, Asheville, North Carolina

This was my 2nd trip to the "Biltmore" Estates. Last visit was in November (not sure of the year?, but I was not blogging at the time.) Photos are only allowed outside the home. NEVER INSIDE. Which I was hoping they would allow photos of the Downton Abbey clothing but nope. no go. Not sure how other folks who have shown pics on their blog of the outfits have gotten past those rules???!
The positive is my Mom & I have lots of great fun memories. We went as an early birthday present for me thanks to my hubby & my parents. So sweet! Mom & I had a fun girls times together. I knew the Downton Abbey clothing would be there until May 25th, 2 days after my birthday... so I wanted to go before they left & my Mom is a super Downton Abbey fan was a must see for the both of us. So so fun!!!
What I love about this home, you drive into that gatehouse at the top & then suddenly you lose all the traffic, the city sounds & noise drive through the farm …

Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, Hayward, Wisconsin

"Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame", Hayward, Wisconsin. i am not a fisherwoman, but i have always been amazed by folks who do fish. all the hard work you do to make those stats. i must say i would prefer to see all these fish in the sea. not on the wall like this ...but what can you do? have you ever seen any of these fish alive before? this salmon above is so cool!!

did i mention that the hubby had a speed boat when we 1st started dating. it was awesome. but i always thought it needed to go FASTER. i love a fast boat. then the goober sold the thing. i miss it big time. he got rid of it because we didn't use it enough. kind of hard when you don't live near any BIG bodys of water. guess we need to move. he loved all the boat motors at this place. i now own a huge SD card of boat motors, what??! yep, i do. any one else in the world who can say that, can YOU say the same thing???!!!??!!!!

do you love to fish? Beth ( :
