Boone Hall Plantation

I would recommend this plantation to tour "Boone Hall Plantation" while visiting in the Charleston, SC area ...we were there in Nov 2019 ...why you might ask? Gorgeous gardens, home, lovely area of SC and just so fun to see. I really enjoy the tour guide we did have, her gorgeous dress, can you imagine wearing one of those puffy dress, getting around and wow, how did those ladies do it? I guess they didn't work to hard, huh??! One funny item I recall from the tour ...did u know? "The servants when bringing the food from the kitchen (not in the home during that time era) to the table for dinner, would have to HUSH THOSE PUPPIES, they were hoping they would drop something for them to eat and enjoy they got the name "hushpuppies" ???! Have u ever heard that one? They are just delicious!! I really enjoy them with a bit of butter, kind of like when I eat a slice of homemade bread. ((Hush puppies are a favorite part of Southern cuisine and are traditionally served with fried catfish)) Gorgeous blooms, Thankful they were around when we did visit. SO SO PRETTY!! I will chat next time about a plantation I would say is probably my All Time Favorite Plantation ever!!!

Thank you for stopping by. Take care. Be Well & Be Blessed. Beth ( ;

Oh what a lovely place. I couldn’t possibly think of doing any work in the style of clothes the women wore way back then.

We've been to Boone Hall a couple of times. It's also beautiful in the Spring with the azaleas in bloom.

Thanks for sharing this pretty place.
We enjoyed this tour and a couple of other plantations when we visited Charleston and surroundings. ... there’s a lot of history in that area for sure, not all of it joyful by any means, , but all of it important to remember. Southern flowers are just so lush and beautiful! Thanks for sharing and for the memories! (We visited this area several times as our granddaughters husband was stationed there (Air Force).

Dells Mill, Augusta, Wisconsin

"Dells Mill", in Augusta, Wisconsin ...was a huge learning experience. Gus Clark, the museum guide was so great.

i just went to the website, to share the link with you guys and i see that Gus did pass away. i am trying to check my notes to see when we were there. we were trying to recall the day. my parents anniversary is August 24th. apparently the day he past away. (he was telling us that he did have some health issues, no details, but i thought he looked ok?) he was so cool. he was very descriptive and so fun to listen too. the mill had been in his family for years. he was just like a real history book. such a loss. (i just checked my notes we were there Thurs. 8/21) i hope he knew we enjoyed our visit. we told him so. thanked him for his time & explained we love seeing the odd, the different & the usual places throughout the US.

mills are becoming far and few. sad but true. ) :

We had dinner at "Pyramid Lake Resort". We were camping at the Wapiti campground within Jasper National Park. We were so happy to find the restaurant ...some times we just head thinking we want to find the 1st great looking place to try out. & thankfully this was a great pick, check out these views we got to see while eating this fabulous meal. This meal was one of the best meals we had all of our whole Canadian trip. It was a amazing!! 1. appetizer, 2. I had halibut, 3. hubby had elk, and 4. was the pyramid chocolate yummyness. it was delicious!! Are you now hungry? Beth ( :
