Place of Meditation, KS

Resting Place "Place of Meditation"
Dwight D. Eisenhower, 34th President
Mamie Doud Eisenhower
Doud Dwight - Dwight & Mamie's 1st born son, interred in 1966.

Today we are visiting the location of our 34th US President final resting place, I wish to take a moment to give you a take on these pics if you will please ... As a kid I never seemed to have a thought or issue with taking a grave side picture ...but as a I grow older ...I feel a bit different ...I am not meaning to disrespect the person or??? It just feels odd??! (As a kid I wanted a memory of being there, done that kind of thing, now?) When we visited this location, you feel the sense of peace & quiet. Like you didn't want to yell. I mean nobody was around, we were the only 2 in the building. We certainly would not be bugging the Eisenhower's, they are resting in peace ... now I never mean to disrespect EVER. I am just curious? I just googled a word to make sure I was using the correct term ... I feel I am a very reverent person. "feeling or showing deep and solemn respect" and that does not mean I respect their beliefs, thought, feelings, I just want to be kind and respect them as a person. Does that make any sense whatsoever???!?!?!?

"Humility must always be the portion of any man who receives acclaim earned in blood of his followers and sacrifices of his friends. -- Guildhall Address, London, June 12, 1945" (this quote was on the wall within the meditation area.)

Did you by chance miss "post 1", "post 2" or "post 3"? Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you are well. Be Well & Be Blessed. Beth ( ;

...we all have our own feeling and being reverent is a house of worship or a cemetery is alway the proper response. Take care and stay well.

That looks like a very peaceful place.
Reverence is called for in a place like this! There is a time and a place for it. You really did the whole “Ike” tour ...I recently read an old book I got free on Kindle “Upstairs at the White House” by the man who was in charge of the family part of it for the terms of quite a few presidents, ( working mostly with the First Ladies). He had some fun things to say about Mamie, who as a Generals wife was already more used to having people take care of her and wait on her than her predessor Bess Truman had been ...

I have no problem with taking pictures in places like this, as long as you are respectful. It would be disrespectful to take a silly looking selfie though.
