Round Barn, Illinois

We were staying at Lake Shelbyville, Illinois ...a camping friend told us of a local ROUND barn ...the man apparently just started building it ...she was hoping we would see him and get the whole story??!

No luck, no one was around, What do you think the story is? I guess some folks just like to build things? Buildings, cars, houses? ...WHAT a gorgeous view. Hope you are well this week. Take Care. Thank you for your visit. Beth ( ;

People do interesting things, don't they? Unusual hobbies. I guess it is good to be busy.

Dells Mill, Augusta, Wisconsin

"Dells Mill", in Augusta, Wisconsin ...was a huge learning experience. Gus Clark, the museum guide was so great.

i just went to the website, to share the link with you guys and i see that Gus did pass away. i am trying to check my notes to see when we were there. we were trying to recall the day. my parents anniversary is August 24th. apparently the day he past away. (he was telling us that he did have some health issues, no details, but i thought he looked ok?) he was so cool. he was very descriptive and so fun to listen too. the mill had been in his family for years. he was just like a real history book. such a loss. (i just checked my notes we were there Thurs. 8/21) i hope he knew we enjoyed our visit. we told him so. thanked him for his time & explained we love seeing the odd, the different & the usual places throughout the US.

mills are becoming far and few. sad but true. ) :

This meal was one of the best meals we had all of our whole Canadian trip. It was a amazing!! 1. appetizer, 2. I had halibut, 3. hubby had elk, and 4. was the pyramid chocolate yummyness. it was delicious!! Are you now hungry? Beth ( :
