The Basin






Kancamagus Highway
The first few views are from "The Basin" a parking area where you park the vehicle, jump out and walk down the path to the Basin ... a neat water feature ...we didn't got the whole distance ...too many folks for my liking. Taken May 2021. It was a gorgeous area. 


 The last shot is along the highway and as well, just a different location. The water along this highway have almost what I would call a "whiskey" colored feel to them. I wonder if that has to do with a mineral or something in the water to cause the coloring? No one to ask ...guess I could google it to figure it out??! Gorgeous puffy cloud kind of day. "Bar U Ranch" , National Historic Site. Established in 1882, it was huge ranching operation  "even more info here." .  if you know anything about me, you will know I have always wanted to live on a farm, own a farm, have horses, cows, dogs, cats, garden, fields, quiet & peace the whole 9 or is it 10 yards. Shady Valley, TN

  Backbone Rock Tunnel, Shady Valley, Tennessee "spur ridge on Holston Mtn that abruptly ends at a bend in Beaverdam Creek. tunnel was drilled through rock in 1901 to allow railroad access between Shady Valley and Damascus, Virginia" Hey There, don't ya love it when you are driving along and find a neat spot? …this tunnel was a busier road, got to see it from both sides of the road ...very cool.
