"Why called French Lick Indiana: early French settlers and the "mineral licks". French traders came to the area and discovered the mineral springs bubbling from the ground..." What a cool area. Not much around ...we had been eating at the "German Cafe" https://www.germancafefrenchlick.com/  on Maple Street and right down the road was this beauty. Church of Our Lady of The Springs Catholic Church ...Sitting up on the hill ... Captured it there. Small town. Fun to see. Enjoy!! Thank you for stopping by. Take Care. Huntingburg City Park

  Huntingburg City Park "Dubois County Bombers" in Huntingburg, Indiana "A League of Their Own". 1992. With Tom Hanks, Geena Davis and Madonna ...just to name a few of the top folks. Stadium was built in 1894. Have you seen that movie before? So good. I am just amazed that they have kept the stadium looking so great. They apparently still hold game there so that is SUPER cool. We saw a worker who was there working on this and that. The room where the ladies got dressed was there, but it was not really that authentic like I recall ...and several masks laying on the floor ...so NOT that great for pics. But it was fun to think about where Tom Hanks stood and every one else ... very NEAT!! I really enjoyed it. Now if you know anything about Beth ...I love BASEBALL. Well more than any other sport out there. I recall many a games where I sat and watched my brother Billy play t-ball. I never wanted to play myself, but I am a great spectator in the stands. We saw several pr

Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Indiana https://saintjosephjasper.org/ I was trying to figure it out, it was a real mystery, seeing the stain glass windows all boarded up, never seen a similar situation like that, if they were restoring a church, it would be a huge sign "saying new look soon or something??????!!!!!?!?" ...to the hubby and I we thought maybe they had a fire ...but after chatting with them on FB messenger ...I found out that they are working on restoration project, glad to know it was not something like vandalism or a fire??! Please go to this link to know more, what steps they are taking, if you wanna donate or just be nosey like me (LOL!!)  https://saintjosephjasper.org/our-time-capital-campaign  Thank you, for stopping by. Holiday World, Santa Claus, IN The Original Santa Claus Post Office. 1836. https://santaclausind.org/ When we were visiting in May 2021 ...they were not open ...but you can get your Christmas notes, cards and letters mailed from this location. What fun. It was completely deserted. It was a beautiful day. No snow in sight??!! Very fun to see though. We have traveled by on the interstate seeing the sign for this location but never seeing it up close ...funny to see all the farm land and the rides just come out of nowhere and the hubby was like ...there is not way this is a ride ...but sure enough ...many roller coasters are just standing there??! So strange.  Santa's Candy Castle Santa Claus, Indiana est. 1935 http://santascandycastle.com/ Right down the road from the one Christmas spot this was there, wish it would have been open to see what was inside. Thank you for stopping by. Hope you are well. Take Care. Beth ( ;
