Dorn Mill, South Carolina

Dorn Mill, SC
200 N Main Street
McCormick, SC

"Cyrus McCormick influenced the location of the railroad and in 1881 donated 40 acres of land for a town. By 1883, the town had a population of 200 people, and cotton gins and shipping were the major economic activities."

Just a hop and a skip away from you car, fun to walk around a smaller town and see the sights. Watch out for the "fire ant hills", they are every where. Love all the history. Do you have a favorite time of history, something that really speaks to you? Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you are well. Take Care. Beth ( ;

Interesting. I’ve been to McCormicks Mill and Virginia. I wonder why he wanted a railroad town in South Carolina.
