Hey there, sharing a trip we took in March 2022. The hubby had a back appointment, and this was the 2nd bed and breakfast we did stay in on the way home, we knew that the morning would hold lots of rain and boy did it pour. Maybe one day we can return to enjoy the local sights but it sure was fun either way!! We did stay in the Steele House in the "Virginia Room". 

We had our parents stay there for their "50th wedding anniversary" (did you miss that post? That was 3 years ago, we did celebrate their huge milestone moment!!) in the "Silo Room". Or maybe you do wish to look back and the amazing meal (I know I am being silly, but I am curious why we didn't use the same dishes??) we did have??!! I am still drooling, may I say that meal was 10 times more flavorful than this one, not sure what did happen? I mean I do not wish to say it was not great, but for some reason that meal, dessert ...it all was amazing, OUTSTANDING for sure!! This meal was good but let me tell you the breakfast was more delicious. Delivered to us in the cutest egg basket, I mean they really do go all out in the simple moments, the special ones you will never forget, promise!! Whatever local yogurt they did have, was amazing!!! We could have used more coffee creamer though, but beggars cannot be chooser, I think that is the saying, right???! Next week I'll share the meal we did have, I was joking with the hubby that it was like our anniversary celebrating, even though it was a bit early, considering our wedding anniversary is in November.

"Bar U Ranch" , National Historic Site. Established in 1882, it was huge ranching operation  "even more info here." .  if you know anything about me, you will know I have always wanted to live on a farm, own a farm, have horses, cows, dogs, cats, garden, fields, quiet & peace the whole 9 or is it 10 yards.   Backbone Rock Tunnel, Shady Valley, Tennessee "spur ridge on Holston Mtn that abruptly ends at a bend in Beaverdam Creek. tunnel was drilled through rock in 1901 to allow railroad access between Shady Valley and Damascus, Virginia" Hey There, don't ya love it when you are driving along and find a neat spot? …this tunnel was a busier road, got to see it from both sides of the road ...very cool. Lincoln's New Salem, Petersburg, Illinois

"Lincoln's New Salem" , Petersburg, Illinois. Can we just say 1st how difficult it is to spell ILLINOIS. nuts!! I think it is even easier to spell MISSISSIPPI. right??! We were told about this site, thanks to a tour guide in Colorado, he said there is a man who works here that look just like Abe Lincoln himself during his young years. Now if you know anything about me, I LOVE HISTORY. 2nd I love anything Abe Lincoln, he's one of my most favorite presidents ever. So I was super excited to meet this gentleman, do you think he was working the day we visited? nope, any ways... A lovely walk & we had fun seeing all the animals. I wonder why we live in such big homes, this one above shows a nice size home all you need in one little room. Less space, less money to pay each month. Sounds good to me!!!
