High Falls Covered Bridge in DuPont Forest
Buck Forest Road, Hendersonville, NC

"The Covered Bridge was constructed in the late 1990s as part of a planned, gated Cliff's Community housing project. The founders of Friends of DuPont Forest launched a successful campaign to save the waterfalls from development. When the waterfall corridor (the area that includes Triple Falls, High Falls, and Hooker Falls) became State land, the bridge was included."

How the heck do folks take selfies that look normal and don't look like you do have 500 chins??! I mean right, come on now??! LOL!! What a fun hike, a bit hard to find the attractions you do wish to see though, we did ask multiple folks to be sure we were headed in the right direction. So many weird looking paths, I don't know if folks were trying to confuse us Virginians or what??! I can recall when this trip was November 2023. We were celebrating our anniversary the day of this hike. The area of NC that we were visiting was having multiple locations with wildfires going on ...and we could hear a helicopter flying over going to and from getting water from the local lake to try and help with the rescue measures. So sad ...I do think it is extremely tough when you are looking for info online to find it once you have left the local area where was the fire was ... why does the news you wanna hear ...so tough to find these days?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still lots of fall colors, we really lucked out in the year of 2023 ...to be able to see multiple states going through their fall seasons ...up state PA, then Virginia and then finally North Carolina ...thankfully they wait for us to get there and we didn't miss it. Can you imagine missing AUTUMN just a perfect time of the year to enjoy. love it. Have a great day. Thank you kindly for your visit. Hope all is well. Take Care. Beth ( ;

A covered bridge in the 1990’s? Well, that’s different! Love that waterfall!

My selfie trick is to hold the phone high and tilt my chin up.
