The Linger Longer, KS

Image
The Linger Longer Soda Fountain 119 N Nelson St Bennington, KS "Step back in time" to experience our authentic soda fountain - one of the few remaining. Continuing tradition, we're in the original 106-year-old building with a beautiful tin ceiling. We still use the same soda fountain and back-bar. Hand-mixing fountain drinks with spigots and pumps allows patrons to experience old-fashioned deliciousness. After enjoying dessert or a sandwich, browse our collection of over 2,000 Dr Pepper collectibles and antiques. It is the second largest public collection in the United States! Plan on having time to play pinball etc. in our extensive game room or relax in the outdoor courtyard. And don't forget to try the Green River!  I'll just say that visiting this soda shop was just a real meant to be moment in our life, our travel lives, it was so so much fun, I wish I could recall the names of the treats we did try, they had real fun names an

Strataca Kansas Underground Salt Museum

Image
Strataca Kansas Underground Salt Museum 3650 East Avenue G Hutchinson, KS I'll start out with that being underground, I don't mind visiting but I can not imagine doing it for a job ...on the daily? I would really miss the light and seeing the outdoors throughout the day or on breaks. What do you think? & pictures are not that great ...I had to go through and weed out some very blurry views. I hope these will give you a great idea of what you will see and enjoy. Very educational and fun. It was neat ...you do ride an elevator down into the mine ...to me you don't really notice the feeling (you might need to pop your ears, but nothing that dramatic??!) or air until you go back up ...it is like a real blowing affect there. You can feel it and hear it, Very wild!!! The rusty like saw machinery was to cut into the mine wall, I find folks who do this kind of work really are amazing hard working folks ...just so interesting to see. I wou

I was doing a bit of research online to try and figure out more about these "Wild Dala Horse Herd" there are 31 of them to find throughout the city. We didn't find all of them but they were fun to see, the ones we did walk past. For me I think my faves are the Christmas one, I did get both side of that design. The coffee and telephone horse. Very creative and unique. Hope you did enjoy. Have a great day!! Be Well & Be Blessed!! Beth ( ;

The Swedish Crown, KS

The Swedish Crown Restaurant 121 N Main St, Lindsborg, KS Hey there!! I completely forgot to take pics of the food we got, the hubs & I did share it, let me tell you it was a perfect plate to share, just the right amount of food. I think my favorite part was the salad, I am always dying for a good salad when I am traveling, I crave it. I just love my greens. We have never had Swedish food before (we have done most others like Chinese, Japanese, German, Italian, American, I know I am forgetting some, but I love opening my mind, my palate and all those sort of things in my (our) life, u know what I mean?? so fun!!), very tasty and filling. I did go online to look at their menu, so I can tell everything we did have: "Lingonberry Iced Tea, Lingonberry Lemonade (the waitress was super kind and gave us drinks 2 go as well, I have noticed that being a new thing, it is so cool, who doesn't need some extra refreshment on the go??! Such a fan!) Swedish Plater:
