Casita Rally in Bandera, Texas

Image
We went to our 2nd Casita Rally in Texas this past April. This one was held at "Skyline Ranch RV Park", in Bandera, Texas . They call this rally the "Blue Bonnet Rally", I've only seen blue bonnets online, was super excited to see them in person. Well, guess what??! The blue bonnets bloomed early this year??! WHAT!!! you are kidding??!?!!? Such a gorgeous area of Texas. If you can imagine 200+ Casitas every where, it is a sight to see. We took this walk to the river twice while there, it is a gorgeous hike & all sorts of creatures area to see. The hubby has gotten the "Casita" all decked out in "Cozy Casa" gear, I never know how it will end up, I have always loved red & white so it works for me. He is the Coca-Cola nut.  I think we were the "bell of the ball", so to speak ...a lot of the folks just keep the normal look of their Casita, the hubby has to be super unique & I think folks enjoy see

Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah

Image
Bonneville Salt Flats International Speedway, Utah , Such an amazing sight to see, a MUST SEE for sure. So much salt & nothing to eat? If you look in the 2nd shot Shelia the sheep is under the sign, she was so tiny under that sign??! Probably salty too!! It was wild to see the cars and motorcycles running around on the salt. Would be great for a commercial, Horrible for your car, not good for the paint.  I did enlarge the Bonneville Salt sign to tell you what it says, some words are rubbed off... "The salt flats were formed an ancient Lake Bonneville slowly evaporated and deposited concentrations of salt onto this playa. Shorelines carved into the mountainsides are visible to the north along the Silver Island range and extend to the Salt Lake Valley. Named after Captain B.L. Bonneville, an early military explorer of the West, the salt flats measure over 44,000 acres and are primarily Public Land.  Historically, the flats have impeded man's movement wes

Mazama Campground, Crater Lake National Park, Oregon

Image
"Mazama Campground" at Crater Lake National Park, Oregon , views from our campsite, that little birdie was trying to hard to get a treat, silly bird, gorgeous colors he did have, but he has learned from some where that humans will give food, a big NO NO!! All I gave him was a talkin' too, he finally flew off. & of course took his picture, he is so famous now. Talk of the bloggy world he is. A "Stellar's Jay". I am guessing similar to a blue jay that we have here in Virginia. Enjoy this video from the campsite, almost like you are right there with us. It does include bird & fire noises. Beth ( ;

Crater Lake National Park, Oregon

Image
"Crater Lake National Park", Crater Lake, Oregon , I swear they must color that water, it is just so so blue. Dreamy lovely blue. It was freezing cold. Woke up in the campground to frost in the AM. So worth it though. Loved every second. I was hoping to meet the folks who owned that VW, such an awesome van. I bet it is super retro inside. Love all those colors and patterns.  Enjoy the video from that day. Such a gorgeous National Park, I hope you get to travel there soon as well, if not, this will tide ya over. Beth ( :

Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, CA

Image
"Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, California" , a gorgeous state park, very dark with all those tall gigantic redwoods. Such awesome amazing heights. No vampires or werewolves. Low water though. I am guessing this was a field mouse, or a forest mouse? We were hiking and I heard some rustling in the leaves and I thought for sure it was a huge creature, nope just this little guy, so cute!! awwww!  Enjoy this video while on our walk that evening. I hope I don't make ya too drunk, walking and filming the view is a bit shaky. nuts! Beth ( :
