Minnehaha Falls Park, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Image
i have heard of Minnehaha Falls Park, for years, and after laughing at the name, i finally got the chance to see it in person. look at that water fall ... so powerful. it was so loud. there is a gorgeous park there surrounding the waterfall. you might even miss the waterfall, if you are not from the area. we did ask a lady are we headed in the right direction? yep, a bit farther. lots of lovely flowers & views. we were on a time schedule we had paid for parking so only like a few moments before our time ran out. so it was a quick run to the fall & back to the vehicle. when you are on a schedule you do what you gotta do. Dells Mill, Augusta, Wisconsin

Image
"Dells Mill" , in Augusta, Wisconsin ...was a huge learning experience. Gus Clark, the museum guide was so great. i just went to the website, to share the link with you guys and i see that Gus did pass away. i am trying to check my notes to see when we were there. we were trying to recall the day. my parents anniversary is August 24th. apparently the day he past away. (he was telling us that he did have some health issues, no details, but i thought he looked ok?) he was so cool. he was very descriptive and so fun to listen too. the mill had been in his family for years. he was just like a real history book. such a loss. (i just checked my notes we were there Thurs. 8/21) i hope he knew we enjoyed our visit. we told him so. thanked him for his time & explained we love seeing the odd, the different & the usual places throughout the US. mills are becoming far and few. sad but true. ) : i wonder who will take over the mill? he was having issues wi

Beaver Creek Lake, Virginia

Image
on Monday October 6th, 2014 the hubby i took a day kayaking trip to "Beaver Creek Lake" . such a gorgeous day. a bit windy. we enjoyed a "Crozet Pizza" , so delicious. a fun picnic. next time i will be sure to share some pizza pictures... completely forgot that part. ( : if you recall my "Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park" posts ...we rented 2 kayaks they had available & this was the 1st kayaking trip we had taken since that trip ...our kayaks are totally different. different length, shape, you sit within the kayak totally opposite. if you have not ridden in a kayak or canoe - you really don't understand. but it is like riding in a car on the opposite side, or trying to write with a hand that you don't normally write with. so wild. i just continued to feel something was off or strange? we had our normal paddles again. it was like teaching yourself to row again. wild times. we had a blast. also the weather was changing so (cold

Cave Mountain Lake, Virginia

Image
1st off - has any one noticed lately that there are a lot more "No-Reply Commentors" on your blog? i have. it seems weird to me? wonder what is going on with that, google maybe having issues or??!  "Cave Mountain Lake", Virginia is a gorgeous area. they do have a campground. we did not stay. just checked it out for future notices in case we are in the area & wished to stay there in the future ...they have a beach, picnic area & hiking trails. i am only guessing but have you ever noticed that a great deal of these places were made by the "Civilian Conservation Corps" , smart men. they last & are just amazing quality. a nice getaway for sure. Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, Hayward, Wisconsin

Image
"Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame" , Hayward, Wisconsin. i am not a fisherwoman, but i have always been amazed by folks who do fish. all the hard work you do to make those stats. i must say i would prefer to see all these fish in the sea. not on the wall like this ...but what can you do? have you ever seen any of these fish alive before? this salmon above is so cool!! did i mention that the hubby had a speed boat when we 1st started dating. it was awesome. but i always thought it needed to go FASTER. i love a fast boat. then the goober sold the thing. i miss it big time. he got rid of it because we didn't use it enough. kind of hard when you don't live near any BIG bodys of water. guess we need to move. he loved all the boat motors at this place. i now own a huge SD card of boat motors, what??! yep, i do. any one else in the world who can say that, can YOU say the same thing???!!!??!!!! do you love to fish?
