Sycamore Shoals, TN

Image
"Sycamore Shoals State Park, Tennessee" , I was curious what a "shoals" are? I went to google to get more info ... here is what google did say  "a large number of fish swimming together." ...The other place I know of talking about "shoals" would be "Muscle Shoals" in "Sweet Home Alabama" song by Lynyrd Skynyrd. "Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers, And they've been known to pick a song or two" . Muscle Shoals is a Sound Studio. Not sure how it got it's name? Maybe you know? I still didn't get the meaning or understanding of why there is a state park there? so I wanted to get some research to pass that along to you my friends so you 2 would understand and might wish to visit this amazing state park when in TN. Here is what the website above did say, just a bit though...  "In 1772, leaders in the settlement came together to establish “the first free and independent community o

Blue Hole Falls, Tennessee, is a popular sight for local folks to come and enjoy a quick dip in these waters. For us it was our 2nd time stopping by to enjoy the hike, stretch our legs. A moment out of heat. Nice day to get away when in this area. Thought I took a vlog/video ...but sadly I did dream that, maybe next time I will remember to do that. Enjoy these shots.  Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you are well. Take care. Be Well & Be Blessed. Beth ( ;

Watauga Dam Campground, TN

We got to stay at Watauga Dam Campground, Elizabethton, Tennessee, back in the beginning of May 2017. With all the recent rains the dam was working overtime, so we thought? 1st time we have stayed in this campground ...so we were enjoying it as newbies ...but the water was way up in the campsite ...one minute right there with the ducks enjoy the waters and then we would return after a trip away and the waters were gone??! So wild! Please enjoy the vlog from that day!! I did make mention in my video note there on Youtube that I hoped or thought I got a shot of the ducks, I did ...it is just not in video form, but picture form? There they are above? See the "duck couple", so cute!! I loved that!! So sweet!!! Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you are well. Take care. Be Well & Be Blessed. Beth ( ;

Sculptures at Hershey Gardens

Image
Such amazing sculptures there at "Hershey Gardens" ... let's check them out. As I say there are so many areas to walk around there at the gardens ...gorgeous trees to stand under if you are dealing with lots of sun. Great shades. Herb gardens, a perfect place for great visit no matter the season. So fun!! I think my favorite will be the butterfly girl ...she just looks so happy and free. 2nd fave is the girl smelling the rose. Thank you for stopping by. Hope you are well today. Take care. Crescent Hill Baptist Church, GA

Image
Crescent Hill Baptist Church circa 1922. We were visiting a Casita rally staying at the Riverbend Campground in Hiawassee, GA. It was a gorgeous church so I told the hubby we needed to stop there on the way back to the campground. We made a stop and took some pics ... of this beauty. I was hoping for some more info online ... one website said it was circa 1872. So I am not sure which to believe. I am just telling you want the church actually had on the building. Not sure where the website got it's info? But it was very interesting to read and all that jazz. " Crescent Hill Baptist is nestled in the North Georgia foothills overlooking the picturesque Nacoochee Valley, carved out over centuries by the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River.  The church also overlooks a historically significant ancient Indian mound built by the Mississipian Indian culture known as ‘Moundbuilders’.  The mound is a famous local landmark that was formally excavated in 1915
