Salmon River Falls

Salmon River Falls Unique Area, New York
110-foot waterfall on the Salmon River in Oswego County.

Sometimes when we travel you just go there not knowing the whole story, the history, every last single detail... I find it so awesome to find out even more when you do the research for a blog post that I get to share with you my bloggy friends ... SO COOL!!! If you are not in the know about New York state, you really should get with the program. There is so much more to the state than the big apple ...the state is huge and so amazing. Like West Virginia "Wild and Wonderful", searching for New York's motto: "Ever upward."

Did you realize that "ice climbing" is a thing? I sure didn't. have I been living under a rock? Have you??!! Maybe you are more familiar with this sport than I am?? "... involves ascending routes that consist only of a frozen water. To ascend the route, the ice climber uses specialist equipment, particularly double ice axes and rigid crampons..." I guess for me, I have even more questions!???!??! The biggest one is how do you not get hurt???!

New York is 1 of the original 13 colonies... I didn't realize that so many American Indians did/do live this area. We all need to give New York state more credit for all the amazing locations that there are to offer, when visiting and enjoying all the recreational activities.

I'm giving you a link to "Salmon River Falls" on Wikipedia because the information they have on there is amazing. To think that this waterfall was so run down and they turned into amazing location ...just is mind blowing to me ...I am so thankful. Gorgeous location. Thank you for stopping by today. Hope you are well. Take Care. Beth ( ;

I love waterfalls. Ice climbing sounds dangerous. Talk about a slippery slope!
